The Marshall University track and field staff has announced Jan. 2-3 as the dates for its first clinic at the new Jeff Small Track in the Chris Cline Athletic complex's indoor facility.

The wait was worth it. Nearly 15 years after Marshall last played host to a track and field meet, the Thundering Herd took to its new Jeff Small Track on Thursday night and opened the 2014-15 indoor season with its best feet forward.

Marshall University makes its 2014-15 women's indoor track and field debut Thursday night with the Ohio Dual, facing the neighboring Bobcats in the first meet on the Jeff Small Track in the Chris Cline Athletic Complex.

Marshall's cross country teams completed its run today in the NCAA Division I Mid-Atlantic Regional at Penn State University.

The Marshall men's and women's cross country teams competed at the 2014 Conference USA Championships on Saturday, finishing eighth and 11th in their respective races at Eagle Point Cross Country Course.

After finishing in the top three in its final regular-season meet of the season, Marshall's cross country teams will compete in the Conference USA Championships in Denton, Texas, on Saturday.

A few of days ago, a longshot dream became a reality for Jeff Small. On Monday morning, Marshall's track and field team practiced on the newly striped oval in the Chris Cline Athletic Complex's indoor facility for the first time.

Running in their last meet of the regular season, the Marshall men's and women's cross country programs both recorded top-three finishes at the Cross Country Only National Invitational on Friday morning.

Having seen improvements through the first three fall meets, the Marshall men's and women's cross country teams will close the regular season at the Cross Country Only National Invitational on Friday morning.
