For the third straight meet of the season, senior Jack Whitney (Ripley, W.Va.) led the way for the Marshall men's and women's cross country teams as he finished 23rd in the 8k at the Charlotte Invitational on Saturday at McAlpine Park.

For the third meet of the season, the Marshall men's and women's cross country teams will compete in the Charlotte Invitational on Saturday, Sept. 28.

Competing in the Commodore Classic for the third-straight season, the Marshall men's and women's cross country teams recorded respective finishes of 17th and 12th on Saturday morning at Percy Warner Park.

With one fall meet already under their belts, the Marshall men's and women's cross country teams will head south to the 2013 Commodore Classic for the third consecutive season. The meet is scheduled Saturday, Sept. 14.

Competing against the top athletes in America, senior Vanessa Jules finished 12th in the heptathlon at the USA Outdoor Track and Field Championships on Friday at Drake Stadium.

Vanessa Jules is "the most accomplished athlete" in Marshall Track and Field history. The 2013 All-American's titles and school records say that as well as her quoted coach, Herd 18-season veteran Jeff Small.
